Independent dealer experience with cudl Same rate, and it saves me from having to make a few trips to the bank. The title pretty much covers the question
Jinny on Twitter:
I’m the owner/operator of a small independent used car lot Purchasing a 2024 crosstrek with $18k financed We are currently looking into acquiring additional financing sources through cudl and i’m searching for feedback from those of you who have had prior experience with cudl.
Cudl is the program cus and dealerships use all over the country to facilitate indirect lending (financing procured at a dealership is indirect)
Long story short, it’s how we submit credit applications and deal applications to cus for consideration Your cu doesn’t do indirect lending That’s the better explanation here. Dealer doesn't want to go without cudl because if they just accept a check directly they won't get their reserve from the program, which is cash in the dealer's pocket and most likely cash straight into the finance guy's pocket.
For the dealer to be funded, they have to have a completed credit application Delinquency rate, look to book, power booking, and minimum contract standards are all enough for any lender to cut off a dealer But if a lender wants to keep a dealer on, they'll typically give a probationary period with some goals that need to be met If they're cutting you off, they were probably just looking for an excuse.
We picked out a car this weekend at a cudl dealer
They ran our credit and told us we were approved by a local cu at an okay interest rate We signed documents/placed deposit but don't know if the process is entirely over yet. I'm looking at new cars and planning on going to a cudl approved dealership to finance through my credit union I'm just curious how much dealerships make off a cudl deal, and if i might be able to offer to finance directly through them in order to get a better price on the car
Is that even a reasonable negotiating tactic As far as cudl, i'm vaguely familiar with. Hi, i got an auto loan approved through a local federal credit union They have provided me with a check for most of the cost of the car and the rest will be coming from me as a wire/cashiers check
However, the car dealership says they still have to run my credit and submit the application to the same credit union where i got the loan
Should i let me dealer submit my loan via cudl
